A story of love, not just a memory
When designing this dress, I knew I wanted to add a personal touch so I decided to add the embroidery lettering. I learned how to embroider because of Deb but also because she wrote me a letter at the end of my second year at college and the handwriting was beautiful so I knew I had to incorporate something linked her message.
The flowers are inspired by the Strawberry Hill Roses in my garden. The idea for the fading of colours is that the dress is a garden of grief and the flowers are beautifully blooming but also fading away like people do at the end of their life and so the flowers are a gorgeous white colour which was actually Deb's favourite. I love the pink roses and Deb loves the white so I'd like to think we meet in the middle. A way I can still feel connected to her even though she has passed on. The colour fades but the memory lives on
